Shannah’s Perspective
on Our Love Story
Who would have thought that my husband would be riding the same
school bus as me—Bus 227! We first crossed paths in the 99 2000's. I
vividly recall writing my first love note to him on the back of my
prom picture in 2003: “To: TL From: Yo Homie. Hope you won’t
forget me. Stay sweet. Love you.” And he didn’t forget! We
maintained a friendship characterized by casual check-ins over the
years, consistently staying in touch.
Our reconnection on Facebook in 2012 marked the beginning of a
renewed bond. From the 4-H program to the YO Club, our journey
eventually led us to marriage. I realized he was meant to be my
husband during a moment in Virginia when I was folding his clothes;
it was then that I understood I would become his wife.
Now, we share a love that I never knew was possible, a love that
completes my heart. It has become evident to me that every
experience in my life has guided me back to him. If I were to describe
our relationship, I would characterize it as ideal. Our love and
partnership have illuminated the significance of nurturing a loving
relationship. I sincerely hope that everyone in the world can
experience even a fraction of the profound love that I have found. I
am truly grateful to God for allowing us to reconnect!
Talmadge Perspective
on Our Love Story
We first met at Carroll Middle School, where we rode the same bus and
lived just down the street from one another. Although we shared a few
classes, I had no idea that I was sitting next to my future wife. After high
school, we took different paths—she joined the Army while I enlisted in
the Navy—but we maintained contact through social media. Initially,
neither of us was keen to claim the other publicly. However, everything
changed when we went on our first date to see *Iron Man 3*, and we
have been inseparable ever since. It’s remarkable to think that one may
walk past their soulmate multiple times before recognizing them.
